Santa Cruz Valley Orchards

Santa Cruz Valley Orchards is physically located 15 miles south of Tucson, Arizona but their virtual home is quickly located at www.azpecans.com. This site is a clean and pleasant use of the World Wide Web as a business support tool.

There are a bazillion company home pages out there (give or take) vying for your attention span with nifty scripts, frames, audio, gadgets and offers. Santa Cruz Valley Orchards may have full screen, realtime video conferencing next week for all I know , but there is something to be said for keeping it simple.

The color scheme here is inoffensive, easy to read and organic. The images, though not totally transparent, are used pretty sparingly and load quickly. Basic company information is offered along with the standard hyperbole, which is convincing, if kept succinct, and a form is available for impulse buyers or pecan resellers.

My favorite part though, is the hook: that gimick that makes returning to a web site worthwhile. In this case, the hook is a pecan recipe contest ! Mmmmm... The winning recipes are posted for you culinary adventurers and prizes are awarded to the winners.
