HUBMASTER'S
CHOICE
FOR
JANUARY 1997
This page is dedicated to the HUBMASTER'S
CHOICE. Each month, the
HUBMASTER
of ARIZONA'S WEBHUB
selects a particularly informative and/or well-designed web page that either covers
Arizona-related information, is administered on an Arizona-based server or is related to Arizona
in some other way. This month's choice is:

Arizona sports fans have another team to cheer for this season. The Phoenix Coyotes NHL hockey team hit the ice in September. In conjuction with their inaugural season, the Coyotes have luanched the team into cyberspace with an official web site. The site, which can be found at www.nhlcoyotes.com, was developed by Rhino Productions Inc. and powered by Genuity, a large local Internet service provider.
The nhlcoyotes.com site offers loads of snappy features for information and entertainment seeking surfers. On the front page is a scoreboard with the latest game score, a slick automated reloading image of the team's stars, today's date and the scoop on the Coyotes' next contest. Options for navigating the site include: "news", "team", "fans", "clinic", "community", "tickests" and "gear". Each of which delve more deeply into aspects of the Phoenix Coyotes organization.
The features I like best are the ability to search the whole site, the easy to read game schedule and the clickable stadium diagram that shows you an actual photo from your section during a game. (Too cool!)
What is there to gripe about? Not much except that you have to be running a recent version of Netscape Navigator or MS Internet Explorer to view the real highlights. I was also surprised to see that you can not order merchandise directly through the site. Appearently, the NHL forces teams to go through their site in order to get the latest and greatest game gear.
So if you are a fan, if you have been to a game or you just appreciate a nicely organized website skate on over to the Phoenix Coyotes web site.
