HUBMASTER'S
CHOICE
FOR
DECEMBER 1995
This page is dedicated to the HUBMASTER'S CHOICE. Each month, the HUBMASTER of ARIZONA'S WEBHUB selects a particularly informative and well-designed web page that either covers Arizona-related information, is administered on an Arizona-based server or is related to Arizona in some other way. This month's award goes to the web sites for two major sporting events in Arizona coming up in the new year:
1996 Fiesta Bowl Web Site
In the first site of its kind for a bowl game, Arc Slide Technologies
has put together a very professionally designed and exciting web site for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, featuring
pages on the history of the bowl game as well as a calendar of events, a shopping mall, information on college teams standings, AP
1995 Ratings, and links to obligatory Frito-Lay-hyping contests and CBS Sports.
All pages are distinguished by a consistant, colorful and elegant design and
contain a lot of useful information about the upcoming Fiesta Bowl and the
events surrounding it. Arc Slide
Technologies Ltd. is a complete in-house electronic design
and communications company based in New Jersey. Among AST's other clients are
Johnson & Johnson, Hoffman-LaRoche Inc., Siemens Corporation, and Rubbermaid.
AST is also a corporate Internet presence provider and offers interactive,
multimedia presentations, package design and display services as well as 3D
animation services.

Super Bowl XXX Host Commitee Web Site

The Official Super Bowl XXX Host Commitee Web Site, developed by Arizona State University, offers information on the Host Commitee, its members, programs and volunteer opportunities - all on bright green artificial turf. The pages also contain many links to other sites with useful information on travel, restaurants, sports, etc in Arizona as well as a wide variety of NFL-related data. A Shopping Mall area is still without products and the Super Bowl XXX Host Committee Events promises many games, contest and special events many of which have yet to become active links.

The Super Bowl Road Trip Contest is a very entertaining site designed
by Phoenix-based Tracer Design, Inc, an Internet
marketing company. The Road Trip
is playing on Sandbox, the premier
interactive entertainment network on the World Wide Web. It is a game that
"begins in New York and heads across the U.S. on an odyssey of adventure, discovery, and challenge. Driving a classic '57 Chevy
convertible, each player is given a fixed amount of money for gas and expenses.
Along the way, trivia questions, riddles, puzzles, and games of chance are
opportunities to make or lose money. Success at the end is measured by who has the
highest score, a combination of time and money." Tracer Design first appeared
on the Internet scene earlier this year with the nationally acclaimed
CyberHunt game which was the first
corporate-sponsored interactive, online game for the Internet.
In Cyberhunt, "contestants must decipher clues and solve riddles in search of an
elusive online character named Vincent who travels inside the Internet from site
to site. The clues and riddles lead contestants to various sites where they will
either find Vincent or be given another clue concerning his whereabouts. Cyberhunt
provides an entertaining, educational way to navigate the Internet with multiple
opportunities to win prizes."
